Leo Perez, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and competitor for Alliance Jiu-Jitsu and Evolution MMA in Schaumburg, IL, talks about his experience with Muscle Activation Techniques™ (MAT™) and the changes he has noticed after a few months of sessions.  Leo discusses some of the differences in his performance, recovery, and training that he has experienced while taking part in the MATRx™ process with Charlie Cates at Muscle Activation Schaumburg.

“My name is Leo.  I am 38 years old and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt.  I have had the privelege of being able to meet Charlie Cates and getting to understand and participate in the (Muscle Activation Techniques™) sessions here (at Muscle Activation Schaumburg).  I have been doing this for about three months.  One of the things we did was he helped me get ready for the World Championships out in Vegas, and I must say that it was phenomenal.  The strength that I feel in my body – my body feels good!  I have been injury free; the kinks that I have had kind of nagging have gone away.  My core is a lot stronger.  The positions that I put myself into (while I train and compete) don’t seem to be as difficult or as taxing on my body.  My body feels great!  I have no complaints.  If anybody ever needed something that they are not sure what the answer is, I’d say give it a try because I wasn’t sure about the whole thing, either, but I didn’t do anything other than come here and do my training, which is specifically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and I gotta say that the results speak for themselves.  I medaled at the World Championships, submitted guys at the top level, and I still feel great, so I’m going to keep coming back here as much as I can and keep it up.”
