Welcome back to this week’s edition of 2-Minute Tuesdays where we are talking about one exercise topic for two minutes and giving you three reasons why you should follow our advice. Now this week, we are talking to those of you who had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and now you are trying to get back into the swing of exercise. What things do you need to keep in mind with your workouts this week to make sure your body stays safe?
1) Take It Easy But Be Consistent
Tip Number One For Exercising After Thanksgiving – take it easy but be consistent. A lot of times, after holiday weekends, your body is more taxed from different stressors like poor nutrition and not sleeping well. Make sure you are being respectful of your body while in the gym, but do not use your weekend actions as an excuse to not workout. Getting back into the swing of things is dependent on your ability to start.

2) Don’t Try To Match Your Pre-Holiday Workouts
Tip Number Two For Exercising After Thanksgiving – don’t try to match what you were doing before the Thanksgiving holiday. Exercise is a stress on your body, and if your body is already stressed from everything that happened over the holiday weekend, make sure to take it a little bit easier with your workouts this week. Consider doing 50% or 75% of what you did before the holiday just to get things back into gear this week.
Action Step: Hit the gym, but don’t feel like you have to #CrushedIt in order to get benefit from working out. If your body is still recovering from the holiday weekend, take this week to build it back up with some internally-focused exercise.
3) Don’t Skip Your Workouts
Tip Number Three For Exercising After Thanksgiving – don’t skip your workouts, even if you were a little bit derailed last week. The biggest thing to getting back into the swing of your fitness routine is to get started. Yes, you have to be respectful of your body and you may need to go easier, but above all, make sure you are getting something in.
