3 Little-Known Facts About Resistance Training

Welcome back to this week’s edition of 2-Minute Tuesdays where we are talking about one exercise topic for two minutes and giving you three reasons why you should follow our advice.  Now this week we are telling you three things about resistance training that nobody ever talks about.  Three little-known facts that you need to know but have never heard before about strength training.


1) It’s Not Just For Meatheads

The first thing you need to know about resistance training that you’ve never heard before is that it is not just for meatheads and gym-goers.  Strength training is for everyone.  The main goal of resistance training, at least how we believe it should be done here at MAS, is to help you keep optimal function of your body.  What this allows you to do is to keep doing the things you love for as long as you want to do them.

2) It Should Not Hurt

The second thing that nobody has ever told you about resistance training is that it should not hurt.  It should not hurt while you are doing it and it should not hurt after you are done.  Your body should feel good while you are doing resistance training, but only if you are doing it right.

3) It Is The Most Potent Form Of Exercise

The last thing you need to know about resistance training is that it is more potent, meaning more effective, than cardiovascular exercise, or any other form of exercise, at helping you to keep the function of your body for the long term.
