“How do I know if I need Muscle Activation Techniques®?” is a question we get often.
While there are many signs and symptoms that indicate you need Muscle Activation Techniques®, one stands out above the rest as the definite indicator.
Unfortunately, most of the world would have you believe that you need to do a bunch of different things to relieve this one issue, many of which actually make the issue worse.
So, what is this one telltale sign?
Muscle tightness.
If you have tight muscles right now, or have ever had a tight muscle, that is a 100% clear indication from your body that you need Muscle Activation Techniques®.
Why?
Because muscle tightness is the most efficient way for your body to protect itself from the underlying issue that Muscle Activation Techniques® resolves–muscle inhibition.
When muscles get inhibited, it is like they temporarily become asleep. In response, other muscles have to work harder (i.e. compensate) to make up for them. As a result, these overworking muscles start to get tighter as they compensate more and more.
When this goes on for long enough, you are left with muscles that are chronically tight and always tighten up again after everything you do to try to relax them, like stretching, massage, or foam rolling.
They tighten up again because even though they get relaxed with the stretching, etc, they immediately have to start working hard and compensating again for the muscles that are inhibited.
So ‘round and ‘round it goes–tighten up; stretch; tighten up again; stretch and foam roll; tighten up again; stretch, foam roll, and massage–until finally you are spending so much time and effort (and money) trying to get your muscles to relax that you are no longer working out, you are limiting what you do for fun, and you constantly hope that today is the day when things don’t get even worse…
So what can you do about this??
In order to stop this cycle of stretching, tightening up again, etc., you need to address the reason why your muscles are getting tight in the first place–the muscle inhibition.
This is exactly what Muscle Activation Techniques® does.
The Muscle Activation Techniques® process is designed to figure out exactly which of your muscles are experiencing muscle inhibition and strengthen and activate those directly.
The Muscle Activation Techniques® process teaches your brain how to access and use the inhibited muscles, getting them firing again and minimizing the need for you to compensate around them.
As a result, your overworked muscles can finally relax–and stay relaxed–and your underworking muscles can get caught back up to speed, helping you to feel stronger and more mobile.
You don’t have to chronically battle muscle tightness for the rest of your life. There is a simple path forward that will help your muscles finally relax and help you feel strong and confident in your body again.
This path is Muscle Activation Techniques®.
