Workout Accountability – Tips If You Don’t Like Exercising In Groups

Welcome back to this week’s edition of 2-Minute Tuesdays where we are talking about one exercise topic for two minutes and giving you three reasons why you should follow our advice. Now this week, we are talking to those of you who don’t like working out in groups but still want to have the accountability that working out in a group brings.  How can you still get that accountability while working out on your own?

1) Work With A Personal Trainer

Accountability Tip Number One If You Don’t Like Exercising In Groups: Consider working with a personal trainer.  This is a great way to get accountability in addition to getting direction with your workouts. A good personal trainer will be able to provide you with a workout that is better-suited for your body than a group class or small group training.  This will help you get better results in a shorter amount of time and help decrease your risk for injury, as well.

2) Join An Online Community

Accountability Tip Number Two If You Don’t Like Exercising In Groups: Consider joining an online community.  Online community can be awesome resources for you because they are filled with people who can help keep you accountable to your workouts but don’t necessarily have to be right there with you while you are working out.  So, you can still get your workouts in on your own while reporting back to the online community members.

Action Step:  There are a number of different communities you can look to join on Facebook and other platforms based on the type of workouts you are interested in doing. Give them a try!

3) Create A Challenge Amongst Your Friends

Accountability Tip Number Three If You Don’t Like Exercising In Groups: Find a workout partner or create a challenge amongst your friends.  Just because you have a community of people keeping you accountable doesn’t mean you have to be working out with them. We work with a lot of people who prefer to workout solo but will use their community of friends or a workout partner to stay accountable.
